Östasiatiska museet - The Collections

Here you can encounter not only the Far East - China, Korea and Japan - but also India and Southeast Asia. The magnificent collections have few eqivalents outside Asia. Prehistoric China is the subject of the current "Kina före Kina" ("China before China") exhibition with items from the collections including Buddhist and Indian sculpture and Chinese paintings. The museum is working on several new principal exhibitions, the next of which (opening 2007) will be The Middle Kingdom, a presentation of imperial China.
